Blender is an open source 3D modelling, animation and rendering tool developed primarily by the Blender Foundation. The Blender render engine can be run in standalone mode on render farms. Rendicity supports seamless Blender renders by using the Rendicity Blender front-end plugin in conjunction with on-demand Blender render farms. Cycles, a new GPU-based render engine, has been included with Blender since version 2.6. Rendicity also supports the creation and use of GPU-accelerated Cycles render farms.
V-Ray is a rendering engine developed by Chaos Group. Rendicity allows V-Ray ray render farms to be provisioned on-demand in the cloud using an hourly billing model. Plugins are available for Autodesk® 3D Studio Max®, Maya® and Softimage®. V-Ray support is currently in closed beta and is available to participating clients only. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more.
Nuke is a compositing tool developed by The Foundry. Rendicity allows Nuke farms to be provisioned on-demand in the cloud using an hourly billing model. A Rendicity Nuke plugin is available that integrates seamlessly with the Nuke interface and automates the transfer of frames to and from cloud compositing farms.
mental ray® is a photorealistic rendering engine developed by NVIDIA. Rendicity allows mental ray render farms to be provisioned on-demand in the cloud using an hourly billing model. Note that care must be taken to ensure that scene files created with external tools, such as Autodesk® Maya®, do not reference any textures or features not found in the NVIDIA mental ray distribution.
We are actively working with partners to bring support for other render engines – watch this space!
